What is the job?
Manages daily restaurant operations and assists with menu planning, maintains sanitation standards, and assists servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance in areas of responsibility. Works closely with colleagues to ensure efficient service and a positive dining experience for guests.
Daily tasks and responsibilities
- Fosters a positive team atmosphere among colleagues.
- Maintains records of staff performance and operating costs.
- Provides regular feedback and coaching to the team to ensure high standards are met.
- Treats all colleagues fairly and with respect, promoting an inclusive work environment.
- Sets and enforces high standards for team behavior during shifts.
- Works with food and beverage staff to ensure proper food presentation and adherence to food handling procedures.
- Handles guest complaints professionally and resolves issues in a timely manner.
- Schedules regular food and beverage service staff meetings to ensure proper understanding of policies and to gather feedback from colleagues.
- Maintains the budget, employee records, prepares payroll, pays bills, and monitors book keeping records.
- Inspects the quality of deliveries, including fresh food and baked goods.
- Coordinates with sales representatives to order necessary supplies, such as tableware, cooking utensils, and cleaning items.
- Arranges for the maintenance and repair of equipment and other services.
- Totals receipts, balances them against sales, deposits receipts, and locks the facility at the end of the day.
- Ensures proper execution of new products and rollouts.
- Capable of handling irate customers calmly and with a friendly attitude.
- Ensures the highest product quality and exceptional service standards are maintained.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for the guest experience within the restaurant.
- Exhibits flexibility when dealing with changes or challenges, such as being short-staffed.
- Effectively forecasts restaurant needs and adjusts as necessary.
- Shifts priorities and goals in response to changing work demands.
- Prioritizes tasks effectively to ensure completion of the most critical duties on time.
- Delegates tasks appropriately and follows up to ensure their completion.
- Takes ownership of issues or tasks and provides detailed updates to the Food and Beverage Manager and General Manager.
- Actively seeks, listens to, and responds to guest feedback.
General Tasks & Miscellaneous
- All colleagues must assess situations and react accordingly through analysis and perspective.
- All colleagues must be flexible and able to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the scope of their job, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
- All colleagues should be visible and available to both guests and colleagues, in accordance with their position, and serve as an example for others.
- All colleagues are required to comply with any reasonable request from their supervisor(s) within a reasonable timeframe, under normal circumstances.
Human Resources & Training

Confidentiality

- All Colleagues must ensure Hotel, Customer and Staff information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company.

- 2-3 years ’experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel
