What is the job?
As a Cost Controller, you independently manage financial tasks, focusing on cost analysis, inventory control, and reporting. You ensure accurate tracking of expenses, communicate effectively across departments, resolve discrepancies, and keep leadership informed. Your proactive and analyatical approach supports operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
Your day to day
Control invoices and verify GL for food and
other costs.
Manage FMC tasks: approvals, article additions, price updates, rights assignments.
Prepare Complimentary Reports and manage Inter Bar Transfers.
Conduct property rounds and other daily audits.
Review daily temperature logs and address queries from receiving, stores, and departments.
Perform recipe costings and cafeteria costing.
Conduct inventory spot checks and physical inventory counts (punching & uploading).
Perform audits for new menu additions.
Analyze supplier changes and new product additions.
Reconcile SUN and Birch Street Inventory GL weekly.
Prepare and post Inventory and Complimentary JVs.
Calculate VAT for Complimentary, Health Club, and SPA.
Handle Excise Returns.
Allocate costs for General Store and other stores.
Prepare variance reports for Beverage, Tobacco, and Minibar. Perform monthly inventory balance sheet reconciliations.
General Tasks & Miscellaneous
All colleagues must be flexible and to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
All colleagues must assess situations and to be able to react accordingly through analysis and perspective.
All colleagues should be available in front of the guests and colleagues – in accordance to their position – and to serve as an example for other employees.
All colleagues are required to comply with every reasonable request from their hierarchical supervisor(s) within an amount of time that it takes to comply under normal circumstances.
All colleagues must be ready to work and assist in any of our other Business Units as required as per business needs.
What we need from you
Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests, in person or on the phone
Take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities and telling them about ways to improve their stay
Handle cash and credit transactions
Stay one step ahead of guests’ needs – record and act on their preferences, and handle their messages, requests, questions and concerns
Be a trusted contact for all guests. Help them with anything from bill issues to local knowledge, and loop in management when necessary
Take pride in your appearance and place as a brand ambassador
Other duties as assigned.
